Archetypes are universal energy patterns, unconscious patterns of power that play out and repeat themselves in our conscious lives.

First identified by Plato and explained to the modern world by Carl Jung, archetypes are rich symbols of aspects of ourselves that have both positive and “shadow,” or negative, traits. For example, the Queen archetype can help you assert your power, take charge of situations, delegate authority, and act with benevolence. But the shadow Queen may run around barking out orders, making impossible demands, and cutting off heads.

To understand your archetypal patterns is to become conscious of these energies, neutralize their shadow effects, and employ their positive strengths in our personal and professional lives. Trained and recommended to Equilibrium by Caroline Myss, Australian therapist Bronwyn Boyle introduces us to the fascinating world of archetypes, helps us see how our strengths and weaknesses play out through them, and how to use these patterns of power to improve our personal and professional lives.

In this daylong, interactive and experiential workshop, Australian therapist Bronwyn Boyle takes us deep into the compelling world of archetypes, the mythic patterns of power that unconsciously shape our behavior in our family relationships, personal relationships, and professional working style.

What internal archetype drives you at work – the Addict (workaholic), the Clown (using humor to inspire or betray), the Mad Scientist (who must destroy in order to rebuild)? In personal relationships, do you see the Damsel (vulnerable princess needing to be rescued), the Vampire (psychically draining power from the other), the Rescuer (who comes in to help but then disappears), the Judge (arbitrating problems)?

Are any of your family members the Martyr (manipulates through service and suffering), the Bully (a coward underneath), the Mentor (trustworthy teacher), the Warrior (always ready to protect and defend)? Of the 70 main archetypes, each of us has 12 that rule our lives.

Knowing your archetypal makeup is a journey of understanding your core motivations and enables you to create and live, with volition, all of who you are. Patterns in families may seem obvious sometimes, and then there are the unconscious connections we fail to make that come from left of field that, once exposed as a possibility, can transform how you relate to yourself and others.

Bronwyn will help you connect with your archetypes to see life’s roadblocks through new eyes, and learn how to use them for empowered decision-making every day. Bronwyn is a Certified Archetypal Consultant, Family Constellations Facilitator, and Master Practitioner and Trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Hypnosis and Neurological Repatterning.

How do you show up in relationship? Would you DATE YOU??

In the space of 10 days a number of people asked me how working with archetypes could get them a date. The first time I was asked I gave a quick few minute answer. The second time I gave a similar answer.

The third time I started asking them some questions. To tell the truth it was suggested to me that I run a seminar on the subject and I don’t remember my response, but I was so focused on other things I didn’t give it much thought.

The fourth time I laughed and said, ‘That’s it – I’m running a seminar on archetypes and dating!!’

This has grown into archetypes and relationships. Understanding the interplay of archetypal dynamics when in relationship or seeking a relationship is defining and illuminating.

When entering a relationship or recognising changes in an existing relationship, how do you recognise the patterns of the Knight, Damsel, Princess, Queen, King, Bully, Hermit ….? (To name a few)

The richness of a relationship is made up of what each party brings to the table. To have a deeper level of understanding about what you bring to the relationship is to live more fully all of who you are.
